Ataíde Semedo was the leader of Quinta da Dôna, a brand that marked the history of Bairrada with classy reds like 1992. Along with some prestigious producers in the area, he revealed the potential of the Baga variety.
In 2005, he sold the Quinta to Caves Aliança and started a new project in São Mateus in the Anadia area, planting 5 ha of vineyards (3 ha of red grapes: Baga, Touriga Nacional, Syrah and Pinot Noir and 2 ha of white grape varieties : Bical , Cercial, Viognier, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc).
The vines are planted on clay-limestone soil, exposed to the South and Southwest, in a cool Atlantic area that provides excellent freshness which is ideal for the production of a precise and fine sparkling wine, a fragrant and full-bodied white made with the Viognier variety and firm and aromatic reds that mix Baga and Touriga Nacional or even a single variety, that expresses the purity of Baga.
