Lourinhã soil hides well-kept secrets, namely the grapes that give rise to the only Portuguese wine spirit in an exclusive demarcated region: Aguardente XO (Extra Old), an exclusive product on the national scene.Lourinhã is one of three regions in the world that is exclusively dedicated to the production of wine spirit, a feature that it shares with the famous French regions of Cognac and Armagnac.

Adega Cooperativa da Lourinhã’s Aguardente bottles are numbered and can be customized. The engraving is done in drawn calligraphy and its recipient is registered in the Winery book, for future memory.

By appointment, a guided tour can be made which includes an explanation of the aging process, visualization of the manual labeling, presentation of the various spirits and tasting.
